An explosive exhibition!
The Minéro Museum presents the exhibition Might and Light from May 10 to September 21, 2025. Visitors will discover the history of black powder, from China to America via Europe!
The first chemical explosive in history, a highly coveted commodity, a formidable weapon at the heart of the development of military technology, and a tool of civilization, black powder alternately sows terror and wonder, leaving behind traces of dust and light. This immersive exhibition takes visitors on a journey through centuries and continents, demonstrating the shockwave that black powder created in the history of humanity.
From Chinese alchemy to the chemistry of European revolutions, from America's fledgling powder kegs to showbiz spectacles, the history of gunpowder is filled with scintillating anecdotes. Enjoy this total immersion into the world of great Chinese emperors, medieval castles, revolutionary Europe, and the conquest of America. Rediscover notable figures like Leonardo da Vinci and Joan of Arc, and discover new ones for whom gunpowder was significant.
As part of this exhibition, Minéro will also offer a program of activities for the whole family, including conferences and meetings for the general public as well as workshops and demonstrations on the first Sundays of the month, when access to the Museum is free for people aged 19 and under.
